Start Diablo on macOS or Android
Install DevilutionX, add your game data, then launch. The free port does not include the full Diablo game.

What you need
Prepare DIABDAT.MPQ from your owned Diablo CD or installation. Hellfire also needs hellfire.mpq, hfmonk.mpq, hfmusic.mpq and hfvoice.mpq. A GOG offline installer must first be extracted using the linked official guide. spawn.mpq runs only the limited shareware content.
Your first launch
Install the official port
macOS: choose devilutionx-macOS-universal.dmg from release 1.5.5. Android: install through the official Google Play link in the installation guide, or use devilutionx-android.apk. Open the app once.
Add your MPQ files
macOS: place your game MPQs in the default data folder, ~/Library/Application Support/diasurgical/devilution. Android: long-press the DevilutionX app icon, choose Import Data and select DIABDAT.MPQ; repeat for each Hellfire MPQ if needed. Follow the official guide if the import shortcut is unavailable.
Launch and check the data
macOS: open DevilutionX. Android: reopen it or use Check again after adding the files. Chinese, Japanese and Korean text also needs the project’s fonts.mpq; use the installation guide for that support file.

Documentation checked on 19 October 2026; not an installation or gameplay test. Shareware is limited content, not a free full-game download. Android file access can vary; use the documented import route when direct folder copying is unavailable.
