File requirements
Provide a full Caesar III installation from your own CD-ROM, GOG or Steam copy, patched to 1.0.1.0. Julius uses that data directory and needs permission to write saves there. Its code license does not supply or license the original game assets.

What it recreates
Recreates the original simulation and familiar interface. The project prioritizes compatibility with Caesar III saves, including original gameplay quirks and bugs.
What’s different
Adds widescreen, windowed play and interface conveniences. Augustus is a separate fork with gameplay changes; its saves cannot be loaded back into Julius.
What you can use today
Version 1.8.0 provides Windows, Linux, macOS and Android downloads, plus Vita, Switch and Emscripten packages. The browser package still needs setup and your game files. Not run by RemakeList.
