Red Alert 2 Recomp — Author-provided interface screenshot

File requirements

Supply your own Steam/EA App (Origin) installation containing game.exe 1.006 and gamemd.exe 1.001. The installer detects the files and generates and builds locally, installing build tools when needed. Generated original-game code and data stay local.

What it recreates

Statically recompiles your Red Alert 2 and Yuri’s Revenge Win32 executables into native C, using the pcrecomp toolkit rather than replacing the game with a new rules engine.

What’s different

Adds a Direct3D 11 presentation window, widescreen resolutions up to 4K, high-resolution voxel vehicles and optional modern mouse orders. Classic controls remain available.

What you can use today

v0.1.3 offers Windows x64, Linux x64 and macOS ARM64 installers that generate and build locally from your own original files. It fixes some Windows launch failures and lingering processes after quit on Linux/macOS. The author estimates 30–60 minutes and about 6 GB for the first build. The installers are unsigned and may be blocked by the operating system. They require local building and include no original game files. Author scripted checks cover menus, skirmishes and campaign entry, not a RemakeList full-playthrough verification. MIT covers the project’s own code; EA game code and assets have separate rights. RemakeList has not built, installed or run it.
