What it recreates

Statically recompiles the PSP USA version for desktop systems, replacing PSP system services with a native host layer. It remains an unofficial project.

What’s different

Uses native Vulkan by default on Windows, with optional DirectX 12. Adds modern twin-stick controls, higher-resolution battles and texture replacement. Enhanced lighting, shadows and bloom remain DirectX 12-only.

What you can use today

v0.9.1 makes native Vulkan the Windows default, retains optional DirectX 12, fixes model textures and automatically extracts your US ULUS10292 ISO. An additional Linux x64 archive targets Ubuntu 26.04-era systems only, with glibc 2.43+, FFmpeg 8 and Vulkan 1.1. Windows Hoth smoke tests and Linux WSL2 software-Vulkan smoke tests are reported; Linux hardware-GPU performance, physical controls and full-game coverage remain unverified. Enhanced lighting, shadows and bloom remain DirectX 12-only. The optional old HD pack has not been revalidated with Vulkan. Back up custom settings and preserve saves when updating.
