File requirements

Provide your own lawfully obtained Rogue Galaxy USA PS2 disc image, SCUS-97490. Other regional versions are unsupported. No game data, BIOS or disc-derived files are distributed; keep your generated game local.

Based on public documentation; full builds and playthroughs have not been tested. Project documentation

What it recreates

Statically recompiles the USA SCUS-97490 game with PS2Recomp and a GPU graphics backend derived from DQ8-Recompiled. It also retains emulated PS2 IOP/audio support in the framework; it is an unofficial Level-5/SCE community port.

What’s different

Adds 30/60 fps modes, aspect ratios up to 32:9, up to 8x internal resolution and an in-game menu for graphics, controls and optional gameplay adjustments such as encounter rate and rewards.

What you can use today

v0.1.0 is a prerelease Windows installer ZIP. Run Install.bat with your own USA disc; it downloads about 300 MB of build tools and compiles locally. Allow around 16 GB disk and roughly 20–60 minutes depending on the computer. The download is not a ready-built complete game. The author reports title/opening, Salgin scenes and battles, not a complete playthrough. A rare hang after the Story loading screen remains, heavy scenes may fall to around 50 fps, and widescreen stretches menus and text. Antivirus may block the local compiler; no security guarantee is implied.
