What it recreates
Statically recompiles the USA v1.0 Nintendo 64 version of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron with N64Recomp and a modified RT64 renderer for Factor 5’s graphics format.
What’s different
Adds widescreen, higher-resolution rendering, optional frame interpolation and texture packs, with mouse, gamepad and flight-stick/HOTAS input.
What you can use today
Documented source build for Windows, Linux and Android; the author reports complete playthrough capability. No release assets were listed: use the documented source build with your own USA v1.0 ROM. The author calls the game playable end to end, but experimental ray tracing, interpolation and multiplayer still have limitations. macOS is compile-only and has not been run on a Mac; Linux x86 was tested only on a 64-bit PC with software Vulkan. GPL-3.0 covers the project’s own host/mod/tool code, not original game rights. RemakeList has not built or played it.
Sources & notesSources checked:
AI / REA provenance Partial AI-assisted development
The author explicitly documents AI assistance in development; this does not mean the original game was AI-generated.
Author development disclosureThe current official README explicitly scopes GPL-3.0 to the host runtime, patches, hooks, mods, tools and documentation, and the LICENSE file matches. This corrects the prior unlicensed-source classification; the empty release list does not establish a new downloadable version.
