File requirements

Provide sonic.zip for SegaSonic The Hedgehog, Japan revision C, with all 18 expected files. Import creates segasonic.assets; generated mobile or console packages include your extracted assets and must not be shared.

Based on public documentation; full builds and playthroughs have not been tested. Project documentation

What it recreates

Builds the game's C decompilation as native programs and supplies replacement graphics, audio and input support. It is independent of Sega.

What’s different

Offers arcade and console-style presentations, a wider view, modern controls and local play for up to three people.

What you can use today

v1.3.0 supplies Windows, Linux, macOS and Anbernic packages with new trackball settings and controller mapping. Provide your own sonic.zip (Japan rev. C, 18 files), or import your extracted segasonic.assets. Android 7+ APK and Switch NSP are generated locally; Switch generation also needs your own keys. These personal packages contain original assets and must not be shared. Multiplayer is local for up to three players. macOS builds are unsigned; author comparisons with MAME are not RemakeList gameplay tests.
