The official game needs no original disc. Choose the desktop download for multiplayer, or the browser edition for single-player.

What you need
No purchased game data is required. Choose the Windows, macOS or Linux download, or open the official Web Edition. Use a mouse and keyboard for the browser route.
Your first launch
Choose your edition
Desktop: get your system's package from the official website. Browser: open the official Web Edition and choose Play Now.
Install or load the game
Windows: run the installer. Mac: unzip the universal app bundle and copy it to Applications. Linux: follow the linked package option. Browser: let the game load; no original files need importing.
Begin with the tutorial or campaign
Desktop: open Warzone 2100 and start with the tutorial. Browser: choose campaign or skirmish. For desktop campaign videos missing from your package, follow the official FAQ's sequences.wz instructions.
Before you continue
Official documentation checked on 19 October 2026; not installation or gameplay tested. The browser edition lacks online multiplayer and streams lower-quality videos. Browser storage cleanup can remove saves; use the desktop edition for multiplayer.
