File requirements

Provide both ExeFS and RomFS from your own lawfully obtained Metroid Dread 2.1.0, with the update merged or supplied separately. RomFS alone is insufficient. No game code, data or keys are distributed.

What it recreates

Extends yozander2009-stack's Metroid Dread Recomp and the SwitchRecomp ARM64-to-C toolchain with Linux setup and runtime support. The game is compiled locally from the player's files; this is unofficial and unaffiliated with Nintendo.

What’s different

Adds a setup/Play/settings front end and an in-game menu. The Linux AppImage bundles the compiler and Python; AUTO-SET chooses initial graphics settings. Windows and Linux do not yet have identical features.

What you can use today

v0.4.0-linux.2 provides a Linux x86-64 AppImage and Windows ZIP. The first launch checks your files and compiles locally; Linux needs about 7 GB free, glibc 2.38+, OpenGL 4.3, SDL2 and a folder-picker utility. Keep the Windows EXE beside its recompiler folder. Despite the release's non-prerelease flag, the author calls all 0.x builds early previews and warns of crashes and setup problems. Linux lacks native Vulkan, built-in release updates, mouse free aim and F7 recording. The reported Steam Deck OLED result was a nine-minute session, not a full-game or universal 60 fps guarantee.
